Purpose of role
To support the SM manufacturing facility and associated managers, to help maintain manufacturing schedules and improve efficiencies. To contribute towards the manufacturing strategy of \βOn time in full, at totally lowest cost\β by monitoring and managing goods at Despatch, ensuring any late or damaged goods are communicated and managed effectively with minimal impact to the production plans to meet client demands. Ensuring goods received are inspected, preserved and electronically managed.
Role and Responsibilities
- Inventory Management
- Maintain and manage inventory, controlling stock levels and product preservation and storage in accordance with relevant business process and procedures.
- Conduct regular cyclic counts and stock audits to ensure accurate stock levels in line with business demand whilst managing efficient stock rotation
- Maintain accurate records of stock adjustments and movements on the company database ensuring real-time data integrity
- Actively participate in the preparation and execution of company stock takes
Goods In
- Manage receipt of all inbound goods in accordance with the relevant business process and procedures.
- Ensure goods received are quality checked to the acceptable business standards, checking for damages and discrepancies and following the corrective methods when issues arise
- Accurately record goods received in the company database in line with the determined KPI metric
Goods Out
- Ensure despatch requirements are managed in line with business demand, achieving on time despatch in accordance with planned delivery dates, communicating any potential delay risk to relevant stakeholders, including line management
- Ensure goods are appropriately packaged, labelled and loaded to enable protection and safety in transit and ease of identification at receipt end
- Conduct final quality inspection on goods before despatch to ensure they meet the appropriate quality standards, following the corrective methods when issues arise
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders to support delivery scheduling and visibility
- Maintain accurate records of despatches, processing goods movements on the company database and ensuring all goods are accompanied by the correct documentation
- Execute the physical delivery of goods between factory and customer in a safe and timely fashion
- Ensure regular maintenance checks and vehicle inspections are conducted on company delivery vehicles, maintaining appropriate cleanliness standards, in accordance with the VES Drivers Handbook guidelines
- Keep detailed records of all company delivery vehicle mileage and ensure fuel receipts are managed in accordance with the relevant company process
Other
- Support the team in the execution of activities to meet all departmental KPIs
- Maintain the company\βs Health and Safety policies
- Collect and deliver other goods as and when required
- Ensure the compliance of all associated policies, processes and procedures
- Contribute to the safe, tidy and clean maintenance of the yard, ensuring any stored product is appropriately and safely secured
- Support and conduct training to ensure cover across areas of responsibility
- Assist and participate with your appraisals, providing feedback and adopting clear personal development plans
- Any other duties deemed appropriate by your line manager
Work location: Eastleigh (Hampshire)
Hours: 8.00am to 4.00pm β 30 minute lunch (40 hours per week)
