Our client, a thriving consultancy based in Derby, are looking for a Health and Safety Consultant to join our team, supporting SME clients, predominantly within the construction industry. Construction and CDM knowledge / experience highly desirable. Starting salary £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete construction site inspections and audits.
  • Ensure practical compliance with CDM 2015.
  • Review H&S documentation, including Construction Phase Plans (CPPs) and RAMS.
  • Help clients understand and meet their duties as Client / Principal Contractor / Contractor.
  • Provide practical advice on controlling common construction risks to include working at height, lifting, excavations / temporary works, plant / traffic management, COSHH, electrical safety and public interface.
  • Conduct incident / near-miss investigations, corrective actions, learning, and RIDDOR guidance.
  • Produce concise, high-quality H&S documentation.

Ideal Candidate

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience in construction environment with knowledge of CDM regulations (desirable).
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good problem solver.
  • Ability to manage own diary and work using own initiative.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is essential.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) desirable.
  • NEBOSH Construction desirable.
  • CSCS card desirable.

Benefits

  • Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.

  • Working pattern: Office, client and site based (typically 2–3 days per week on client sites, with the remainder office based; travel required and flexible working where practical).
  • Location: Most clients are in the Midlands, however you must be prepared to travel further if required on an ad hoc basis.
  • Start date: ASAP.
