Our client, a successful company based in Derby, are seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Design Engineer to join their well-established, supportive team. The successful candidate will be involved in the design and delivery of civil and structural engineering solutions across a variety of projects, working in accordance with British Standards and Eurocodes. Starting salary flexible depending on experience, up to around £43k.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out civil and structural engineering design and analysis.
- Prepare design calculations, technical reports, and specifications.
- Produce and review structural drawings and details.
- Design using reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and timber where applicable.
- Ensure designs comply with BS and Eurocodes and relevant UK regulations.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other design team members.
- Respond to technical queries and provide support during construction.
- Attend meetings and site visits as required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in a civil or structural engineering role.
- Experience working in accordance with British Standards and Eurocodes.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software (e.g. Tekla, Tedds, Cads, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- Ability to work as part of a team and using own initiative.
- Strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with BIM processes and coordination (desirable).
- Full UK driving licence (essential for site work).
