- The successful Health and Safety Consultant will be required to:-
- Undertake full Health and Safety legal compliance audits and inspections, including developing tailored legal registers and prioritised action plans.
- Complete site specific risk assessments, including Fire (if qualified), COSHH, Manual Handling and DSE.
- Audit client facilities for compliance with legislation.
- Advise the management team on commercial and technical direction so that the business can adapt to emerging trends. Provide practical advice.
- Liaise with inspectorates and government organisations on behalf of the client.
- Undertake complex accident and incident investigations.
- Provide technical updates and industry changes to the management team.
- Provide on-site health and safety support (e. g. acting as the interim Health and Safety Consultant/Manager).
- Design and deliver health and safety training and seminars.
- Provide mentoring and support to junior members of the team.
- The ideal Health and Safety Consultant will have:-
- 2 years+ experience in a health and safety related role.
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupation Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Technical Member of IOSH or above (Tech IOSH) (desirable.)
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to use sound technical judgement and logical problem-solving when faced with new or complex challenges.
- Ability to write concise, technical reports.
- A desire to work as part of a team.
