About the team

We have a really exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Assistant to join the Electrical & Toys Category team. You’ll report directly into the Supply Chain Manager and have lots of opportunity to further develop your skills. You will work alongside 6 supply chain assistants.

We’re looking for someone who is highly motivated, great attention to detail and a passion for data and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a knowledge and some experience of supply chain and/or merchandising.

About the role

As a Supply Chain Assistant, you will support the Supply Chain Manager/Lead to ensure that inventory plans are executed, and availability delivered to support our sale plans. You will be responsible for availability, stock and the customer experience.

Day to day you will work closely with your internal colleagues and external supply base to ensure a seamless process from monitoring, tracking and reporting on supplier availability and performance. You will make recommendation on changes to the inventory plan where required and resolve any warehouse queries supported by the Category Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase order creation in line with supplier lead times and the Forecasting Stock Planner\'s inventory plans
  • Progression of stock deliveries from suppliers into DC\'s
  • Management of Direct Despatch suppliers availability, ensuring visibility throughout
  • Management of Direct Despatch customer promise
  • Create analysis of stock mix and stock health to support category decision making
  • Highlight potential availability gaps, with recommended inventory amendments to improve availability
  • Consolidation of supplier availability information for sharing internally with Category Managers & Forecasting & Stock Planners

About you

We’re looking for someone who is highly motivated, great attention to detail and a passion for data and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a knowledge and some experience of supply chain and/or merchandising.

  • Previous business experience in a Supply Chain / Merchandising or Trading based Head Office role.
  • Data driven and able to work analytical, paying high attention to detail.
  • Strong excel skills are essential.
  • Solutions and delivery focused.
  • Creative, passionate and innovative.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
