Role Purpose

Responsible for procurement and contracting across all areas of the business in order to create best in class partnerships and best in cost commercials, which drive growth and provide value for the whole of the business and our customers.

Strengthening the effectiveness of the EP&P Team by creating and maintaining robust knowledge management and reporting to help the EP&P leadership and the team make data driven decisions.

About the Role

  • In-directly servicing customers through sourcing and management of partners who provide services that are integral and critical to the customer journey and to customer service.
  • Group wide strategic sourcing of non-merchandise suppliers to deliver the business requirements whilst achieving the lowest cost-to-serve and ensuring an acceptable level of risk. Directly responsible for ensuring the services delivered meet business requirements and the commercial agreements are within budget and cash forecasts.
  • Individual performance results in providing the essential third party tools, services and capability required for customers, colleagues and other teams across the whole business
  • Negotiation of individual contracts which range in value from £1K to £1M.

Key Responsibilities

Execute effective low value procurement by :

  • Working with budget holders and other colleagues to agree specifications for goods and services. developing innovative but sustainable ways in which to procure these at total lowest costs, protecting cash and offering best value to the organisation on an ongoing basis.
  • Negotiating costs, payments, terms and conditions, rate cards, service catalogues, service level agreements and service credits in line with targets.
  • Defining technical contract requirements and working with Legal to draft simple agreements.
  • Ensuring the services and contracts are in line with any regulatory, data governance and technology security requirements.
  • Engaging and updating key Stakeholders throughout the process so we ensure negotiations meet their requirements, advise them of the best deal structure ,and expedite the final approval process.
  • Ensuring any third party agreements enable and encourage suppliers to deliver services to the highest standards and allow them to grow services where mutually beneficial, whilst giving The Very Group the appropriate amount of protection and risk mitigation.

Support finance and other business functions through :

  • Working with the extended EP&P team and budget holders to identify non-valued added contracts and take action to withdraw from such contracts in line with business requirements. negotiating termination of contracts minimising cost and litigation risk for the company.
  • Ensuring negotiations aim to meet the commercial targets, designed to benefit cost and cash, as set out by the Head of External Partnerships & Procurement.
  • Ensuring the proper escalations occur if these targets are not met.

Provide support to the External Partnering & Procurement team and the rest of the business by

  • Completing contract approval forms and executive summaries
  • Maintaining any commercial catalogues
  • Maintaining the Contracting Databases.
  • Completing new supplier set up.
  • Assisting with any Legal team queries.

Contribute to the seamless operation of the EP&P team by.

  • Collating and reporting on performance to targets and service levels
  • Producing regular reports on cost and cash savings
  • Producing regular reports on supplier payment terms
  • Producing regular reports on the status of initiatives

About you

  • Strong data interpretation and analytical skills
  • Excellent technical and PC skills (Excel & Powerpoint) Jira
  • Excellent communication, presentation, explanation and influencing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage a fluid workload and multiple projects simultaneously
