About the role.

The Head of Assortment Planning will be responsible for leading Assortment Planning activities across strategy, insight and range architecture, to optimise assortment proposition delivering customer and commercial objectives (covering Fashion, Sports & Home).

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the Fashion, Sports, and Home Assortment Strategy with clear alignment to the Group strategy, delivered through comprehensive customer, assortment, pricing, and activity planning.
  • Ownership and presentation of category and brand growth initiatives and business cases.
  • Engage with the wider business to share insights and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Lead and motivate a team of 45 people through continual change and development.
  • Be accountable for assortment strategic OKRs, collaborating closely with Merchandise Planning to inform commercial budgets and achieve business objectives.
  • Analyse historical performance, market trends, and customer modelling to guide strategic direction.
  • Build strategic supplier relationships and joint business plans to drive positive customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Agree range architecture framework with Assortment Managers, supporting optimised price, product, brand and segment mix across the proposition.
  • Continuously review and improve assortment processes and technical scope to ensure consistent best practices and efficiencies.
  • Identify opportunity within the P&L to optimise assortment profitability.
  • Leverage data to best inform strategic business insights and relevant application.
