Large Format Print Operative

As a Dye Sublimation and UV Printer Finisher at Very Displays, you will play a vital role in the production of high-quality graphics through the operation of dye sublimation and UV printing equipment. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing, printing, and finishing graphics to meet our stringent quality standards and client specifications. You will work closely with the Production, Graphics, and Design teams to deliver stunning visual displays that enhance the overall impact of our clients’ exhibition spaces., * Set up and operate dye sublimation and UV printing equipment to produce high-quality graphics according to project specifications.

• Monitor the printing process, making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal print quality and colour accuracy.

• Prepare materials for printing, including loading and aligning substrates and ensuring they are suitable for dye sublimation or UV printing.

• Conduct quality checks throughout the printing process, inspecting for defects and inconsistencies before and after production.

• Finish printed materials, including cutting, trimming, and applying laminates or coatings to enhance durability and visual appeal.

• Maintain equipment in optimal working condition, performing regular maintenance and troubleshooting as required.

• Collaborate with the Graphics and Design teams to ensure that designs are accurately represented in the final product.

• Keep accurate records of materials used and tasks completed, promptly reporting any issues or delays to the production team.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist in the sourcing and selection of printing materials, ensuring the right substrates are used for each project.

• Stay informed about new printing technologies, techniques, and trends in the exhibition and display industry to continuously improve processes.

• Support the installation and setup of printed graphics on-site as required, ensuring displays are fitted and tensioned correctly.

• Communicate with vendors or suppliers regarding printing materials and delivery schedules., * Print quality – Percentage of graphics produced with minimal errors and defects.

• Project completion rate – Number of printing jobs completed on time according to project deadlines.

• Quality control pass rate – Percentage of printed materials passing quality checks without needing rework.

• Material waste – Amount of material wastage during production; aim to minimise excess use.

• Machine downtime – Frequency and duration of equipment maintenance or breakdowns, aiming for minimal disruption.

• Client satisfaction – Feedback from clients regarding the quality and appearance of printed materials.

• Production efficiency – Time taken to complete printing tasks compared to estimated timelines.

• Error rate – Number of printing errors identified during or after production.

• Safety compliance – Adherence to safety protocols with zero incidents or injuries in the workplace.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dye Sublimation and UV Printer Finisher to join our Production department at Very Displays, where we specialise in producing high-quality graphics for exhibitions and live events., Proven experience as a printer finisher or in a similar role, preferably with a focus on dye sublimation and UV printing., Strong ability to operate dye sublimation and UV printing equipment.

• Meticulous attention to detail in preparing and finishing printed materials to ensure high quality and accuracy.

• Proficient in colour management and print production processes.

• Familiarity with different substrates and their properties, along with appropriate handling and printing methods.

• Ability to troubleshoot printing issues and implement solutions quickly.

• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with design, production, and project management teams.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of Caldera RIP, Agfa Avinci, Dgen Teleios, Canon Colorado, Monti Antonio, and Titanium is advantageous but not essential., * Precision
