Technical Sales Engineer

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary: £27,000 – £35,000 depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

We\’re recruiting a Technical Sales Engineer to join a growing commercial team. This role is about more than just quoting, it\’s about understanding customer requirements, solving problems, and building strong working relationships with clients across engineering and manufacturing sectors.

You\’ll handle incoming enquiries, manage existing accounts, and help identify new business opportunities. This is a varied role that blends customer service, technical know-how, and commercial awareness.

What you\’ll be doing:

Responding to incoming phone and email enquiries.
Preparing quotes based on technical specifications and drawings.
Supporting existing customers and building long-term relationships.
Managing your own customer accounts from enquiry to delivery.
Working closely with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely orders.
Helping identify and convert new business opportunities. What we\’re looking for:

Experience in a sales role within engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Able to interpret technical drawings (CAD experience is a bonus).
Good understanding of materials and metal specifications (advantageous).
Confident working independently and as part of a small, close-knit team.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel). What you\’ll get in return:

Salary between £27,000 – £35,000 depending on experience.
32 days holiday including bank holidays.
Free on-site parking.
Monday to Friday working hours, no evenings or weekends.
