Verus Recruitment is partnering with a leading manufacturing company based in South Yorkshire, operating from a 300,000 sq. ft. facility in Rotherham. This company provides services to OEMs across industries such as defence, security, construction, quarrying, recycling, and rail, with in-house capabilities including laser cutting, CNC machining, fabrication, welding, shot blasting, painting, and assembly.
We are seeking a resilient Quality Engineer to join the team, reporting to the Quality, Health, and Safety Manager. The role involves driving quality improvements, managing the non-conformance system, identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and developing an audit program. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and presentation skills, capable of liaising with key personnel and department heads. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual in a collaborative, open-plan work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve ISIR and FAIR documentation prior to submission.
- Act as the primary contact for addressing internal quality issues.
- Investigate internal and external non-conformance issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Prepare and submit PPAP documentation in line with customer requests.
- Provide inspection support as required to manage workload or cover absences.
- Review and approve concessions before they are sent to customers.
- Conduct regular quality audits to maintain high standards.
- Lead 8D investigations in response to issues identified by the QHSE Manager.
- Develop and implement process controls for specific procedures.
- Generate Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs) and follow through to ensure successful resolution.
