In a lot of manufacturing environments, quality ends up being reactive. Problems are picked up late, and the role becomes managing issues rather than preventing them.
This role is different. You'll be involved in driving improvements, working closely with production, suppliers and customers, and taking ownership of quality issues from root cause through to resolution.
You'll be based in a large-scale manufacturing facility in Rotherham, supplying into sectors including defence, rail and heavy engineering. The setup is well invested, the work is consistent, and the expectation is clear. Maintain standards, improve processes, and keep quality where it needs to be.
What the role looks like day to day:
You'll be working across the shop floor and with internal teams, investigating issues, supporting production, and making sure quality standards are met throughout the process.
What you will be doing:
  • Reviewing and approving ISIR and FAIR documentation.
  • Acting as a key contact for both customer and internal quality issues.
  • Leading non-conformance investigations and CAPA activity.
  • Preparing and submitting PPAP and FAI documentation.
  • Supporting inspection activity when required.
  • Reviewing and approving concessions.
  • Leading 8D investigations and audit activity.
  • Supporting the development of process controls.
  • Raising and managing supplier NCRs and ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
What they are looking for:
  • Experience in a similar Quality Engineering role within fabrication or manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of quality tools, systems and methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.
  • A practical, problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working across departments.
This role suits someone who wants to be involved in improving processes and maintaining standards, not just reacting to issues after they happen.

  • £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience
  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Healthcare plan and life assurance
  • Company pension
  • Costco membership discount
  • Monthly vending allowance
