Job Title: EDM CNC Machinist – Aerospace Precision Engineering Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire Salary: £37,570.64 per year (including shift allowance) Contract: Full-time, permanent Shifts: Weekly rotation of mornings and afternoons If you’ve got experience in EDM and want a stable role with proper support, solid kit and real standards, this one’s worth a look. We’re working with a global aerospace manufacturer based in Sheffield who are growing their team. They’ve got a well-run machine shop, a steady order book, and they’re looking for someone who knows their way around Electro Discharge Machining to join them long-term. You’ll be working with precision aerospace components that demand care, consistency and clean execution. If you like following process, getting things right first time and being part of a team that takes pride in doing things properly, you’ll fit in here. What you’ll be doing: Setting up and operating EDM machinery (wire and sink). Working from engineering drawings and following routing instructions. Inspecting parts visually and with tools like verniers, micrometers and plug gauges. Making sure components meet spec and are processed to aerospace standards. Logging completed work and flagging any non-conformities. Following SOPs, job cards and quality protocols. Identifying parts using correct marking methods. Keeping your work area clean and ready for audit. What we’re looking for: Experience in EDM machining. Ideally worked in aerospace or another high-spec manufacturing environment. Skilled with manual inspection tools. Able to read and work from technical drawings. Quality focused and steady under pressure. Comfortable working shift patterns and hitting deadlines. Someone who’s reliable, accurate and good to work with.
