Welding Inspector (Weekend Shift, 3 Day Week – PCN Level 2)

Location: Rotherham

Salary: £17.51 per hour (circa £31,412.94 per annum based on 34.5 hours)

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Hours: Friday to Sunday, 6:00am to 6:00pm

This role doesn’t follow the typical five-day work week. You will work Friday to Sunday, then have four full days off before starting again. This is a different way of structuring your work week, providing more time away from it.

In most fabrication environments, inspection occurs only at the end of the process, making it harder to resolve issues and maintain quality. In this role, you will be involved throughout the fabrication process, helping to maintain standards as work moves through production.

  • Reviewing WPS, PQR and WPQ documentation
  • Carrying out visual weld inspections and dimensional checks
  • Reviewing and endorsing NDT reports
  • Supporting welding teams with technical advice
  • Prescribing and monitoring weld repairs
  • Verifying correct use of NDT methods
  • Completing inspection records and documentation
  • Reviewing inspection and test plans and final fabrication packs

What they are looking for:

  • PCN Welding Inspector Level 2 or equivalent is essential
  • PCN Level 2 MPI or DPI is preferred
  • Experience in welding inspection within fabrication
  • Understanding of QA and QC processes
  • Comfortable working on the shop floor and with documentation
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • IT literate including Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable taking responsibility for quality and working without constant supervision

What you get:

  • £17.51 per hour
  • 3-day working week with 4 days off every week
  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Company pension
  • Life assurance
