At Vertu Toyota Rotherham, we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our team. Working closely with the Dealership Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial performance of the business while gaining exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant with motor trade experience who is looking to further develop their skills and progress their career within one of the UK's leading automotive retail groups.

About the Role
Supporting the Accountant and management team, you'll be involved in producing financial reports, analysis and management information to help drive business performance and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the production of Management Accounts
- Preparing forecasts and estimates
- Processing payroll
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing accruals and prepayments
- Cash flow reporting
- Reconciling manufacturer bonuses
- Credit control activities
- Producing spreadsheets and financial analysis
- Supporting day-to-day accounting processes
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Assistant Accountant with previous motor trade experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar accounting role
- Motor trade experience
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Good organisational and time-management abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships across the business
Desirable
- Experience using Kerridge/CDK Drive
- Experience assisting with Management Accounts production
- Experience preparing forecasts, accruals and reconciliations
