We’re building a modern product development function inside Vertu – one that combines agility, pragmatism, and a relentless focus on value. We’re looking for a Delivery Manager with a strong agile background – someone who brings the servant‑leader mindset of a Scrum Master, combined with the practical delivery leadership needed to create flow, alignment, and predictable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate lightweight delivery practices (planning, stand‑ups, reviews, retros) that keep the team aligned and focused on value, not ceremony.
- Coach and partner with Product Owners to strengthen their capability in refinement, prioritisation, and agile product development – helping them co‑shape clear, manageable work with the team so it flows predictably through the system.
- Identify and resolve delivery risks, blockers, and cross‑team dependencies early.
- Contribute to our Delivery HQ community – mentor peers, share good practices, and help evolve consistent, effective ways of working across our product development space.
- Act as a change agent who improves flow within the team, across value streams and the wider organisation, visualising work clearly, stabilising delivery cadence, and optimising the system by reducing cognitive load, simplifying processes, and strengthening agile interactions that enable effective collaboration and continuous improvement.
Success in the First 6 Months
- Work is fully visible across the team and stakeholders – everything meaningful is captured in Jira and organised to support clarity and decision‑making.
- The team’s work follows a clear, consistent structure aligned to our internal model (Initiatives → Epics → Stories), making priorities, scope, and progress easier to understand.
- The team establishes an emerging, sustainable delivery rhythm, with planning, refinement, and review practices that fit their context and the wider systems they operate within.
- The team shows increased self‑organisation and ownership, with fewer escalations, more peer‑to‑peer problem solving, and stronger collective responsibility for delivery.
- The Delivery HQ community feels stronger and more connected, with more consistent practices, shared learning, and improved alignment across Delivery Managers.
- Stakeholders feel the impact – clearer communication, better visibility, improved alignment, and a noticeable reduction in friction or ambiguity around delivery.
Skills & Behaviours
- Servant‑leadership mindset, with experience helping teams grow in autonomy, confidence, and self‑organisation.
- Practical, flexible use of Scrum/Kanban, applying agile principles with judgement, not enforcement.
- Strong coaching capability, supporting both technical teams and stakeholders to refine problems, shape work, and improve flow.
- Clear, calm communicator who builds trust quickly, brings constructive challenge, and navigates shifting priorities with good judgement.
- Self‑driven and committed to continuous improvement, bringing the attitude, energy, and professionalism that strengthens both delivery and team culture.
What You’ll Get (Culture, Support, Growth)
- A values‑driven, people‑first culture where collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning guide how we build products and work together.
- Our ONE VERTU principles: clarity of purpose, focus on outcomes, self‑improvement, autonomy, and high energy shape the environment you’ll operate in every day.
- A modern, cross‑functional technology organisation that brings together Development, Service Operations, Cyber, Security, Data, and Dealer Management Systems – you’ll work with teams that own what they build and care deeply about quality, user needs, and incremental value.
- Real influence on how delivery happens across teams, with the opportunity to strengthen agile product practices, support stakeholder capability, and help teams focus on solving meaningful problems.
- Support from a growing Delivery community (Delivery HQ) that is committed to raising consistency, improving flow, and evolving how we work across value streams.
- You’ll be part of shaping this community, not just participating in it.
- Meaningful work that impacts thousands of colleagues, improving systems, tools, and experiences across one of the UK’s largest automotive groups.
- A supportive leadership environment that values clarity, autonomy, trust, and servant leadership – giving you the space to bring your craft, judgement, and coaching skills to life.
- Opportunities for personal and professional growth, whether through coaching, mentoring, learning from peers, or developing your agile leadership capability.
- Hybrid working, a competitive salary, and excellent benefits, all within a forward‑thinking technology department committed to building great products – and great people.
Employment checks will be completed prior to starting. These include verification of recent employment, credit history, and a criminal record check.
