We are working exclusively with a reputable, fast-growing and forward-thinking facilities management business. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Fabric Engineer to join their mobile team working across the North West with coverage to Blackpool / Stoke and surrounding regions.
This role will be covering a varied portfolio including schools, art galleries, commercial buildings and specialist commercial environments. An Enhanced DBS check will be required and arranged as part of the process.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Fabric Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive mobile roles covering the North West, with regular travel across areas including Manchester, Warrington, Blackpool and down towards Stoke. The role will involve a high volume of reactive callouts during the working day, so you must be comfortable working in a busy mobile maintenance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out general fabric maintenance and building repair works
- Completing planned and reactive maintenance across a mobile portfolio
- Responding to day-to-day reactive jobs such as broken doors, faulty taps, minor leaks, damaged fixtures and general building issues
- Carrying out light plumbing repairs, including taps, toilets, pipework, leaks and basic sanitaryware repairs
- Basic carpentry works, including doors, locks, handles, hinges, frames and minor joinery repairs
- Completing minor external fabric works where required
- Working safely and professionally across sensitive environments, including schools and specialist residential settings
- Liaising with site teams and clients to ensure works are completed efficiently
- Completing job reports and paperwork accurately
The Person
The successful candidate will be a good all-round Fabric Engineer with experience across general building maintenance, fabric repairs, light plumbing, basic carpentry and reactive maintenance. You will need to be comfortable working mobile across the North West and happy covering a varied portfolio of sites. Due to the nature of some of the environments, you must be professional, reliable and able to work respectfully in sensitive settings.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Fabric Engineer, Maintenance Operative, Multi-Skilled Engineer or Building Maintenance Engineer
- Strong all-round building maintenance skills
- Experience with light plumbing, basic carpentry, door repairs, locks, fixtures, fittings and general fabric works
- Experience working across commercial sites
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable with a mobile role covering the North West
- Happy to complete an Enhanced DBS check
Package
- Salary of £35,000–£39,000

- Callout rota of 1 in 14 (£50 callout fee)
