  • Coverage: Wrexham/Shropshire wider travel to North Wales, Stoke and surrounding regions

We are working exclusively with a highly reputable and growing nationwide facilities management contractor.

The business provides comprehensive building maintenance services to several well-known high-street retailers across the UK.

They are looking to recruit a Roofer’s Mate to support an experienced Roofing Technician across a portfolio of commercial and retail properties.

The Role

You will work alongside the Roofing Technician, supporting with the safe and efficient completion of roofing repairs, maintenance and improvement works.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Assisting the Roofing Technician with day-to-day roofing maintenance and repair duties.
  • Supporting the delivery of reactive maintenance services across retail and commercial properties.
  • Helping to inspect roofing defects and assess the work required.
  • Assisting with repairs and improvement works as instructed.
  • Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and within agreed client timescales.
  • Preparing materials, equipment and work areas.
  • Keeping sites clean, safe and organised.
  • Communicating professionally with customers, colleagues, managers and office-based teams.
  • Updating job information and completing basic works administration using a tablet.
  • Travelling throughout the contract area, including the wider Lake District and Cumbria.
  • Participating in the 1-in-4 callout rota.
  • The Candidate

The successful candidate will

  • Have experience working as a labourer, trade mate or roofing mate.
  • Ideally have previous roofing maintenance or roofing labouring experience.
  • Preferably have experience working on commercial or retail properties.
  • Be comfortable working at height and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Have a practical, hands-on approach and good problem-solving skills.
  • Be reliable, hardworking and able to follow instructions.
  • Have good customer service and communication skills.
  • Be comfortable using a tablet to update jobs and complete basic administration.
  • Be flexible regarding travel and working hours due to the nature of the contract.
  • Ideally hold relevant health and safety qualifications such as CSCS, SPA, IPAF or PASMA.

Package

  • Starting salary of £28,770 including standby fee
  • Shared company van with the Roofing Technician
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Monday to Friday
  • 40 hours per week
  • 1-in-4 callout rota
