Maintenance Roofer

Salary: £35,000 including London Weighting Allowance + Company Vehicle + Door-to-Door Travel and Excellent Benefits
Ideal engineer location: Borehamwood / Radlett / Shenley / Bushey
Coverage: London and the South East, including Dover and Eastbourne, with wider coverage extending to Coventry, Cannock, Norfolk and Suffolk.
Our client is a highly reputable and growing nationwide facilities management contractor providing building maintenance services to a portfolio of well-known commercial and retail clients.
Due to continued expansion, they are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Roofer to join their mobile maintenance division.
This is a highly mobile role covering a large geographical area. Applicants must be comfortable with regular travel and longer-distance journeys as part of the position. Travel is paid door to door.
The Role
You will provide planned and reactive roofing maintenance across a portfolio of commercial and retail properties, ensuring repairs and associated works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned and reactive roofing maintenance and repairs.
- Inspecting roofing defects and identifying the work required.
- Completing repairs safely and within agreed client response times.
- Prioritising workloads to meet SLAs and deadlines.
- Working independently across a large mobile portfolio.
- Communicating effectively with customers, managers and office-based teams.
- Completing job updates and supporting documentation electronically.
- Providing support and guidance to colleagues where required.
- Travelling extensively across London, the South East, Midlands and East Anglia, including regular longer-distance journeys when required.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Be an experienced roofer with a proven maintenance background.
- Hold an NVQ/SVQ in Roofing Occupations or equivalent qualification.
- Ideally have experience working across commercial or retail properties.
- Be comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for jobs on site.
- Have strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Be confident using tablets and mobile technology to complete job records.
- Be genuinely comfortable with a role involving significant regional travel and occasional longer days due to the geographical coverage.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Ideally hold relevant Health & Safety qualifications such as CSCS, SPA, IPAF or PASMA.
- Experience in other areas of building maintenance would be beneficial but is not essential.

- Salary £35,000 including London Weighting Allowance.
