Air Conditioning Installation Engineer
Midlands Based – National Coverage
Permanent, Full Time
Salary £47,000–£50,000 DOE + Company Van + Door-to-Door Travel + Excellent Package

We are working exclusively with a reputable, fast-growing and forward-thinking facilities management business with a strong company culture and ambitious plans for continued growth.
Due to expansion, they are looking to recruit an experienced Air Conditioning Installation Engineer to join their team, working on a variety of commercial installation projects across the UK.
The role will involve installing VRF/VRV systems, split and multi-split air conditioning units across a varied commercial portfolio, including offices, car dealerships, hotels, art galleries and other commercial properties.
This is a national installation role involving regular travel and overnight stays away from home. Applicants must be comfortable working away frequently, depending on project locations and requirements.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out air conditioning installations across commercial sites nationwide, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Installing commercial air conditioning systems, including VRF/VRV, split and multi-split systems.
- Carrying out new installations, system replacements and upgrades.
- Installing refrigerant pipework, condensate drainage and associated equipment.
- Completing pressure testing, leak testing, evacuation and system preparation.
- Assisting with commissioning, testing and handover of completed installations.
- Working from technical drawings, specifications and installation instructions.
- Diagnosing and resolving installation-related faults and issues.
- Working alongside other engineers, contractors and project teams.
- Ensuring installations comply with relevant regulations, manufacturer requirements and Health & Safety procedures.
- Completing installation documentation, job reports and associated paperwork.
- Providing a professional service to clients and site teams.
- Travelling nationally and regularly staying away from home to complete projects.
The Person
The successful candidate will:
- Have strong experience as an Air Conditioning Installation Engineer.
- Be experienced in installing VRF/VRV, split and multi-split air conditioning systems.
- Hold a recognised Air Conditioning or Refrigeration qualification.
- Hold a current F-Gas qualification.
- Have experience installing refrigerant pipework and completing pressure testing and evacuation.
- Be comfortable working independently and as part of an installation team.
- Have previous experience working across commercial sites.
- Be confident reading technical drawings and installation specifications.
- Have good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ideally be based within the Midlands, including Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Worcester, Leicester, Nottingham or surrounding areas.
- Be genuinely comfortable with extensive national travel and regular overnight stays away from home.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Be professional, reliable and customer-focused.
Location & Travel
This is a Midlands-based role with national coverage, working on installation projects wherever required across the UK.
Project locations may include Brighton, Middlesbrough, Leeds, Chester, North Wales, Gloucester and other regions depending on client requirements.
The position will involve significant travel and frequent working away, so flexibility is essential.
Travel is paid door to door, with working-away expenses covered by the company.
