At Verto, we’re passionate about helping businesses in Africa reach the world. What began as a foreign exchange solution for trading Nigerian Naira has evolved into a market-leading platform that’s transforming how thousands of businesses transfer money to and from Africa. We believe that where you do business shouldn’t limit your success or growth potential. However, many companies face long settlement periods, high transaction fees, and limited liquidity when trading with African businesses. Our mission is to change this by creating equal access to the seamless payment and liquidity solutions that are already standard in developed markets. Backed by world-class investors like Y-Combinator, Quona, and MEVP, we power payments for some of the most disruptive start-ups worldwide. Named ‘Fintech Start-Up of the Year’ at the Fintech Awards London 2022, we process billions of dollars in payments annually, enabling companies to save money, automate processes, and scale. But this is just the beginning.
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join our London team, with a focus on generating winning new business within the UK market. Your primary focus will be executing outbound strategies to capture market share from established competitors and identify new growth opportunities. You’ll play a key role in driving client acquisition and fostering relationships, directly impacting revenue growth and the adoption of Verto’s innovative solutions.
Your Responsibilities
- Leverage your FX expertise to understand client needs, build value, and promote Verto's solutions to new clients.
- Proactively generate new opportunities through cold calling, email, LinkedIn, in-person engagement, and more, to build a strong pipeline of targeted prospects.
- Drive the sales pipeline across all stages: prospecting, outreach, product demonstration, negotiation, and closure.
- Build and utilise a network of potential clients; an existing client book is highly advantageous.
- Take a consultative approach, engaging with multiple decision-makers to navigate complex sales processes.
- Consistently exceed monthly sales quotas, earning competitive rewards for outstanding performance.
- Collaborate with the Account Management team to upsell and cross-sell Verto’s product suite.
What You’ll Need
- Minimum 2 years of sales experience in the payments and FX space.
- Proven success working with clients across EMEA and LATAM.
- Strong executive presence, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- A self-motivated, curious, and resilient mindset, with the ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
- Exceptional organisational skills, including prioritisation, scheduling, and time management.
- A team player mentality and the ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders.
