Trainee Service Engineer / Trainee Service Technician / Multiskilled Engineer required to join a global leading engineering manufacturer. The Successful Trainee Service Engineer / Trainee Service Technician / Multiskilled Engineer will provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, fault finding and maintenance on compressed air equipment including compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers & dryers, nitrogen generators and associated compressed air products at customer sites across the South West UK with occasional travel to Bristol for training and parts collection.

The Trainee Service Engineer / Trainee Service Technician / Multiskilled Engineer will ideally have hands-on experience in electrical and/or mechanical engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with familiarity in electrical fault finding and systems troubleshooting or a mechanical/electrical qualification with a willingness to learn. Full product training provided.

Trainee Service Engineer / Trainee Service Technician / Multiskilled Engineer Role:

  • To provide electrical and mechanical repair, service and maintenance of compressed air equipment at customer sites.
  • Undertake planned and preventative maintenance, provide advice, diagnostics, fault finding of compressed air systems, nitrogen generators, vacuum pumps, blowers & dryers, nitrogen generators and other compressed air products.
  • Installing compressed air/water & nitrogen pipelines into all forms of the manufacturing industry.
  • Perform emergency breakdown fault finding and repairs on various compressed air equipment.
  • Liaise with various engineering departments.
  • Working at customer sites throughout the South West UK with occasional travel to Bristol for training and parts collection.

Trainee Service Engineer / Trainee Service Technician / Multiskilled Engineer Requirements:

  • Proven diagnostic skills on complicated electrical/mechanical engineering systems.
  • Experience as a Trainee Service Engineer, Apprentice Engineer, Apprentice Technician, Entry level Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Field Service Engineer or similar.
  • Hands-on experience in electrical and/or mechanical domains with a willingness to learn.
  • Strong understanding of three-phase electrics and controls, with hands-on experience preferred.
  • Mechanical or electrical qualification, apprentice trained, NVQ level 3, City & Guilds or similar would be a plus.
  • Background in the compressed air industry or related electromechanical fields (e.g., compressors, filtration, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, valves, rotating equipment) would be advantageous.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally to Bristol for training and parts collection.
