A Senior Manager, Data Centre ESG & Sustainability is required to build and lead the ESG function for an AI infrastructure business developing purpose-built cloud platforms and high-performance data centre environments. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced sustainability professional who wants to create the strategy, methodology and reporting framework from the ground up rather than inherit an established function.

The Senior Manager, Data Centre ESG & Sustainability will work across technical, commercial and delivery teams, with exposure to executive stakeholders, certification bodies, auditors, investors, lenders and regional stakeholder teams. The role is suited to someone who combines strong ESG knowledge with the ability to deliver the technical work personally in a fast-changing environment.

Role:

  • Develop carbon accounting methodologies and sustainability commitments, including areas such as net zero strategy, renewable energy agreements and water usage considerations
  • Lead certification processes, including standards such as BREEAM and LEED, across live infrastructure projects
  • Create ESG processes, policies and reporting frameworks aligned with recognised industry standards
  • Prepare investor and lender ESG disclosures during the early stages of function development
  • Support regional stakeholder teams with social impact commitments and sustainability initiatives
  • Translate technical sustainability data into clear reporting for senior and external audiences
  • Work cross-functionally to embed ESG considerations across infrastructure delivery

Requirements:

  • Experience in ESG, sustainability or carbon strategy roles, ideally within infrastructure, real estate or energy environments
  • Experience developing sustainability frameworks, methodologies or reporting processes
  • Comfortable delivering technical carbon, sustainability or certification work directly rather than only managing teams
  • Ability to produce clear written documentation and disclosures for investor or lender audiences
  • Experience working in an environment where processes and functions are being built from the ground up
  • Understanding of data centre sustainability considerations, including relevant industry standards and guidance
  • Familiarity with the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres is beneficial

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience with BREEAM and/or LEED certification processes
  • Exposure to green financing or sustainability-linked loans
  • Understanding of renewable PPA structures
