Design Engineer required to join a Global manufacturer based in Runcorn. The Design Engineer will ideally have some industry experience with a Degree in mechanical engineering or similar. The Design Engineer will have a mechanical background, with some experience within a design for manufacture or engineering environment. Knowledge of Creo / Pro-E would be beneficial, however experience using Solidworks, SolidEdge, Autodesk Inventor or similar will be of interest.

Package: Up to £35,000 depending on experience, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, Pension scheme, Private healthcare.

Role:

  • Develop new and prototype designs as well as existing designs
  • Work closely with engineers, customers and suppliers from concept through to production
  • Engineering calculations
  • Follow program from prototype build through launch and eventually apply product knowledge to new product development/design
  • Use engineering principles, tools, and software to overcome design and test issues
  • Work with customers to understand their requirements and application - Design engineering solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Designing engineering products used in hydraulic applications
  • Create 3D models in Creo / Pro-E
  • React to customer issues and provide ongoing design modifications and support
  • Part drawings with correct dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Select correct materials, heat treatment, and assembly processes needed
  • Liaise with various engineering departments
