Production Planner / Production Scheduler / Manufacturing Plannerrequired to join a forging manufacturer based near Wolverhampton. The Production Planner / Production Scheduler / Manufacturing Planner will be best suited for someone with a Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering with experience in production planning, steel/metal purchasing, metal manufacturing, and a strong understanding of Metallurgy. Package: £40,000 Pension scheme 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Monday to Friday Office-based near Wolverhampton Key Responsibilities: Create and manage production schedules for forged and machined parts using ERP systems Plan and track steel and raw material purchases to meet demand Coordinate with toolroom, forging, machining, and inspection teams to meet delivery targets Manage workload across forging hammers, CNC machines, and finishing areas Keep ERP/MRP systems updated with live production data Support shopfloor teams with clear priorities and production targets Monitor WIP, raw material stock, and finished goods Liaise with engineering on prototype and low-volume jobs Identify and resolve bottlenecks, shortages, and planning issues Support improvements in planning, lead time reduction, and resource use Requirements: Proven experience in a production planning or manufacturing planningrole within a metal manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of metallurgy and steel procurement Experience managing or supervising manufacturing teams Experience in niche or prototype manufacturing Excellent IT and planning system skills Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills Commutable to the office near Wolverhampton TPBN1_UKTJ
