Sales Manager / Business Development Manager / Technical Sales Engineer required to join a leading engineering supplier. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business and managing key accounts across the UK, promoting a range of motion control products including motors, drives, actuators, gearboxes, motion systems, and associated instrumentation solutions, as well as managing a small team.

The ideal candidate will have experience selling motion control, automation, motors, drives, gearboxes, actuators or electromechanical systems into OEM and test environments such as automation, packaging machinery, medical equipment, aerospace, automotive and defence sectors. Full product training will be provided.

Role:

  • Develop new business opportunities across the UK for motion control and automation solutions.
  • Promote products including motors, servo drives, actuators, gearboxes, motion systems, and associated instrumentation.
  • Target OEM manufacturers across sectors such as automation, packaging machinery, medical, aerospace, automotive, and defence.
  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts while identifying opportunities to expand product usage.
  • Manage one direct report within the sales team, providing leadership, guidance, and support for their development.
  • Work remotely with regular customer visits across the UK, as well as working out the Horsham office twice a week.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager, or Key Account Manager within an engineering or automation environment.
  • Experience selling motion control products such as motors, drives, actuators, gearboxes, servo systems, or related automation equipment.
  • Experience working with OEM customers within industries such as automation, aerospace, automotive, medical devices, packaging, or defence sectors.
  • Engineering qualification such as HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering would be advantageous.
  • Experience in managing a small engineering team and providing leadership to drive team success.
  • Willingness to work remotely with regular customer visits across the UK, as well as working out the Horsham office twice a week.
