Key Account Manager / Senior Sales Engineer / Sales Manager required for a leading supplier of Valve & Instrumentation solutions based near Ormskirk. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing key customer accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting customers with cost-effective valve and instrumentation solutions. This is an office-based role with occasional customer visits, offering the opportunity for future progression into Sales Management.

The successful candidate will have previous hands-on technical sales experience within engineering, valves, instrumentation, or process industries and will be confident managing the full sales cycle from enquiry qualification through to forecasting and account development.

Package:
  • £30,000 - £50,000 depending on experience

Role:
  • Managing and developing established key accounts across the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Food & Beverage, Utilities, Process Manufacturing, and OEM sectors
  • Promoting and selling a wide range of Valve & Instrumentation products and engineered process solutions
  • Supporting customers with technical and commercial solutions tailored to process industry applications
  • Selling valve actuation packages and complete Control & Instrumentation solutions
  • Acting as the main point of contact for customers via telephone, email, Microsoft Teams, and occasional site visits
  • Identifying customer problems and providing cost-effective engineering solutions
  • Preparing quotations, sales proposals, and commercial bids
  • Managing and developing sales opportunities through Salesforce CRM including pipeline management, forecasting, enquiry qualification, and reporting
  • Working towards individual sales targets and KPI objectives
  • Supporting the Sales Director and contributing towards future sales strategy and business growth
  • Taking the commercial lead on projects and managing customer relationships throughout the sales process
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver complete packaged solutions
Requirements:
  • Proven experience within a technical sales, account management, or business development role
  • Previous experience selling valves, instrumentation, process control equipment, or related engineering products would be highly advantageous
  • Experience within Process Industry, Petrochemical, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Utilities, Manufacturing, or OEM sectors
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience constructing sales propositions and bids
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems for pipeline management and forecasting
  • Mechanical engineering background or technical engineering understanding preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with engineering, operations, and maintenance personnel
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing customer relationships
  • Existing network of contacts within the Process or Petrochemical industries would be advantageous
  • Commutable to Ormskirk
