Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer / CAD Engineer required to join a specialist manufacturer of steel fabrications and engineered systems based in Broughton, Northamptonshire. The successful Design Engineer will be responsible for producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using SolidWorks, managing BOMs, and supporting engineering and manufacturing teams with the design of bespoke mechanical systems and assemblies.

You will have experience within a steel fabrication or mechanical engineering environment, with strong SolidWorks skills and the ability to work hands-on with production and project teams.

Package: £40,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings using SolidWorks
  • Create and manage BOMs within the company’s ERP system
  • Support engineering, sales, and production teams with design input
  • Ensure drawing quality, version control, and document accuracy
