Stores Supervisor / Workshop Supervisor / Engineering Supervisor required to join a global, leading engineering supplier. The successful candidate will report directly to the Branch Manager and lead a small team across stores, workshop and trade counter operations. This is a varied, hands-on position combining team supervision with practical responsibility for stock control, order processing, goods inward, workshop assembly and customer service. You will ensure daily operations run safely, efficiently and to a high standard while supporting the assembly and supply of hydraulic, pneumatic and industrial engineering products.

The ideal candidate will have experience within an engineering, manufacturing, distribution or industrial environment. Previous supervisory experience would be advantageous; however, experienced stores, workshop or trade counter professionals looking to progress into a team leadership position will also be considered.

Role:

  • Report directly to the Branch Manager and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the stores, workshop and trade counter.
  • Supervise, support and develop a small team, ensuring workloads are organised and high standards are maintained.
  • Oversee and participate in customer order picking, packing and dispatch.
  • Manage goods inward, including receiving deliveries, inspecting incoming products and completing the relevant paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stocktaking, system updates and effective stock control.
  • Monitor stock levels of non-catalogue products and ensure all associated workshop documentation is processed correctly.
  • Lead and support the assembly of hydraulic, pneumatic and industrial products using mechanical and manual assembly methods.
  • Ensure completed assemblies meet required specifications, quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Supervise and actively support trade counter operations, including serving customers, processing orders and handling cash or card payments.
  • Work closely with the Branch Manager, sales team and supply chain departments to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Stores Supervisor, Workshop Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor, Engineering Supervisor, Trade Counter Supervisor, Stores Team Leader or similar.
  • Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing, industrial distribution, warehouse or workshop environment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, fluid power or industrial engineering products would be highly advantageous.
  • Good general mechanical or engineering knowledge with practical problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with order picking, packing, goods inward, stocktaking, inventory control and associated paperwork.
  • Previous experience assembling mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic products would be beneficial.
  • Good basic IT skills, including experience using stock management systems, order-processing software, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is advantageous, although applicants with the right attitude and willingness to lead by example will also be considered.
  • Ability to commute to Basingstoke daily.
