Fitter / Mechanical Fitter / Workshop Engineer required to join a global engineering manufacturer.

The successful Fitter / Mechanical Fitter / Workshop Engineer will work on the mechanical fitting, stripping, assembling, and maintenance of industrial pump systems and other rotating equipment in the workshop near Brentford. Full training provided.

The Fitter / Workshop Engineer / Mechanical Fitter will ideally have practical, hands-on experience and be used to getting stuck into physical mechanical work, someone who enjoys taking things apart, rebuilding equipment, and working with tools day-to-day.

Fitter / Mechanical Fitter / Workshop Engineer Role

  • Carry out mechanical fitting, stripping, and assembly of pumps and rotating machinery.
  • Strip down equipment, replace worn parts, and rebuild to specification.
  • Inspect and test mechanical components, spotting wear or faults.
  • Support general workshop repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Work closely with other engineers to keep jobs moving.
  • Commutable to the workshop in Hanwell, West London daily.

Fitter / Mechanical Fitter / Workshop Engineer Requirements

  • Experience in a hands-on role such as Mechanical Fitter, Workshop Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Service Technician, Apprentice Engineer, or similar.
  • Comfortable working with tools, doing physical/mechanical work, and “getting your hands dirty.”
  • Strong practical ability — assembling parts, using spanners, working on machinery.
  • Interest in mechanical kit, pumps, engines, rotating equipment, or anything you can take apart and rebuild.
  • Positive, willing to learn, and happy working in a busy workshop environment.
  • Must be able to commute to the workshop near Hanwell, West London.
