Design Engineer / CAD Engineer / Project Design Engineer required to join a global, leading Engineering Manufacturer. The successful candidate shall be site-based near Chester, designing and developing complex filtration systems, predominantly Dust Control systems, creating detailed models, drawings and schematics, performing engineering calculations, and supporting testing, commissioning, and integration within complex projects. Full training provided.
The role involves:
- Designing and developing complex filtration systems, predominantly Dust Control systems.
- Creating 2D and 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and schematics using software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Taking ownership of projects from the inquiry stage through to order, installation, and commissioning.
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and coordinating activities across various departments, such as purchasing, installation, and commissioning.
- Visiting client sites to measure systems, liaise with clients, and ensure project progress.
- Overseeing installation and commissioning processes, working alongside installation teams and engineers.
- Collaborating with other team members, including the engineering and installation teams.
Requirements:
- Experience working as a Design Engineer, CAD Engineer, CAD Technician, Design Technician, or similar.
- Proven experience in industrial filtration, process equipment or dust & fume control system design.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, and the ability to take control of the project from start to finish.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D) for drawing and design tasks.
- Experience with process equipment, dust filtration, material handling, and bespoke systems is a plus.
- Experience working in a process-oriented environment with materials like powders, ducting, and silos.
- HNC or HND is beneficial, but not essential.
- Live commutable to Chester, but willing to travel UK-wide when required.
