CAD/CAM Programmer required for a leading precision engineering manufacturer based near Woking. The CAD/CAM Programmer will play a key role in developing and optimising CNC programs for complex, high-precision machined components produced on multi-axis CNC milling and millturn machines.
Responsibilities will include:
- Creating robust machining strategies
- Generating setup documentation
- Supporting production teams during prove-out and production runs
- Troubleshooting machining issues to ensure efficient and right-first-time manufacture
- Supporting new product introduction projects
- Improving machining processes
- Working closely with quality, engineering, and production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

- £45,000 to £51,000 per annum depending on experience

CAD/CAM Programmer Role:
- Create, optimise, and validate CNC programs for multi-axis CNC milling and millturn machines
- Develop machining strategies for complex geometries and tight-tolerance components
- Generate tooling lists, setup sheets, and machining documentation
- Simulate and verify CNC programs to minimise collisions and reduce cycle times
- Select suitable tooling and cutting strategies for aluminium, copper, stainless steel, and exotic alloys
- Support machining teams during prove-out, first-off inspection, and production runs
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to minimise downtime
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical challenges
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time, tool life, and process stability
- Contribute to new product introduction and fast-turnaround projects
- Provide technical support for quotations, feasibility reviews, and manufacturing planning
CAD/CAM Programmer Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CAD/CAM Programmer within a precision engineering or advanced manufacturing environment
- Strong experience programming multi-axis CNC milling and millturn machines
- Experience machining aluminium, copper, stainless steel, and exotic materials
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, PowerMill, HyperMill, NX, or CATIA
- Excellent understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling, and cutting parameters
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience working within high-pressure, deadline-driven environments
- Knowledge of aerospace, motorsport, medical, defence, or advanced engineering sectors advantageous
- Familiarity with Mazatrol, Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain controls beneficial
- Commutable to Woking
