Lead Design Engineer / Design Team Leader / Senior Design Engineer required to join a manufacturer in Bradford, West Yorkshire. We are looking for a Lead Design Engineer / Design Team Leader / Senior Design Engineer to manage a team of 2, whilst being responsible for hands-on design from full concept through to delivery of mechanical engineered components.
The Lead Design Engineer / Design Team Leader / Senior Design Engineer will have experience in 3D design, some leadership or management experience with mechanical design experience.
Package
- Competitive salary depending on experience
- Mon - Thurs 07:30am-16:30 and Friday 07:45 - 12:45
- 5% Pension
Role
- Responsible for the design function as well as the design of new products and providing engineering support through all phases of product development and manufacture
- Maintain and improve current designs and products
- Managing a team of 2 (1 Apprentice and 1 Production Engineer)
- Project manage design & development projects for the design and improvement of products
- Product concept, layout, assembly and detailed 2D / 3D CAD drawings
- Design test equipment and production jigs & fixtures
- Use of GD&T (Geometric tolerancing)
- Report to the Engineering Manager
Requirements
- Some exposure to people / design team management
- Experience as a Lead Design Engineer / Design Team Leader / Senior Design Engineer / Lead Designer / Chief Engineer / Lead Mechanical Engineer / Lead Mechanical Design Engineer / Lead CAD Engineer or similar
- Exposure to GD&T (Geometric tolerancing)
- Mechanical engineering design background
- 3D CAD experience Solidworks, Inventor or similar
- Mechanical engineering qualification or similar
- Commutable to Bradford, West Yorkshire
