Internal Sales Engineer / Applications Engineer / Technical Sales Support Engineer required to join a global, market-leading engineering supplier. The successful candidate will join a close-knit team providing technical advice, customer support, and upselling across a specialist automation product range, handling warm leads and enquiries with a balanced mix of technical and commercial work.
The ideal candidate will have a technical background in sales or support within industrial automation or process control, be experienced with products such as PLCs, sensors, drives, and motors, or similar. Must be commutable to Menston.
Package:
- £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)
- Bonus scheme (company and target dependent)

Role:
- Handle inbound customer enquiries and warm leads, providing technical support and tailored solutions across the company’s full product portfolio.
- Build and maintain relationships with industrial and wholesale customers, identifying opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and long-term account growth.
- Configure and confirm technical product specifications, ensuring suitability for customer applications and project requirements.
- Generate accurate quotations, proposals, and order confirmations while maintaining documentation and supporting the external sales team with follow-ups.
- Liaise with engineering departments, suppliers, and logistics to ensure correct configuration, timely delivery, and high service standards.
- Provide exceptional after-sales support to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Responsibilities:
- Previous experience as a Sales Engineer, Internal Sales Executive, Applications Engineer, Technical Sales Support, Technical Support, or similar.
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation products - ideally from within an industrial, automation, or process control environment, including PLCs and control systems, sensors, switches, drives, motors, and motion control equipment, or similar.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and configure engineering products.
- Confident communicator with a proactive approach to building relationships and identifying opportunities.
- Determined, motivated, and eager to grow within a reputable engineering organisation.
- Fully site-based role must be commutable to Menston.
