A leading provider of industrial and automated packaging machinery and solutions is seeking a Trainee Service Engineer. The successful candidate will provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, fault finding, and maintenance on packaging machinery at customer sites across the UK. Full product training will be provided.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience or knowledge in electrical and/or mechanical engineering. Preference will be given to those with familiarity in electromechanical servicing, fault finding, and systems troubleshooting, or a mechanical or electrical qualification such as apprentice trained, NVQ level 3, city & guilds, HNC, HND, or similar.
Package:
- £30,000 - £32,000 basic depending on experience
- Salary rising up to £45k once experience is gained

Role:
- Provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, and maintenance of automated packaging machinery at customer sites.
- Install automated packaging machinery into various forms of the manufacturing industry.
- Perform emergency breakdown fault finding and repairs on various packaging machinery.
- Liaise with various engineering departments.
- Work at customer sites throughout the UK.
Requirements:
- Willingness to learn complicated electrical/mechanical engineering systems.
- Experience as a Trainee Service Engineer, Apprentice Engineer, Graduate Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Field Service Engineer, or similar is advantageous.
- Mechanical or electrical qualification, apprentice trained, NVQ level 3, city & guilds, HNC, HND, or similar would be a plus.
- Hands-on experience in electrical and/or mechanical domains with a willingness to learn is desired though not a necessity.
- Determination to learn the industrial automation, packaging, and robotics industry with enthusiasm for career progression opportunities.
- Flexibility to travel across the UK with regular customer site visits.
