Weld Engineer required to join a U.S.-based industrial manufacturing partner delivering precision fabrication, tooling, and welding solutions for demanding, regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical authority for all welding activities
  • Develop and qualify WPS, PQR, and WPQ documentation to applicable codes
  • Standardize and optimize welding processes for quality and efficiency
  • Support robotic welding procedures and documentation
  • Provide technical input on joint design, materials, and weldability
  • Oversee weld qualification testing and coupon evaluation
  • Provide CWI-level inspection oversight (internal and suppliers as needed)
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements
  • Support and improve the welding elements of the Quality Management System
  • Train, mentor, and qualify welders and inspection personnel

Minimum Requirements

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (required)
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS, ASME, API, MIL, and applicable welding codes and standards
  • Deep working knowledge of welding codes and standards
  • Experience working with MRP or production planning systems
  • Experience supporting production and quality systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Commutable to Richmond, IN
