Weld Engineer required to join a U.S.-based industrial manufacturing partner delivering precision fabrication, tooling, and welding solutions for demanding, regulated industries.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical authority for all welding activities
- Develop and qualify WPS, PQR, and WPQ documentation to applicable codes
- Standardize and optimize welding processes for quality and efficiency
- Support robotic welding procedures and documentation
- Provide technical input on joint design, materials, and weldability
- Oversee weld qualification testing and coupon evaluation
- Provide CWI-level inspection oversight (internal and suppliers as needed)
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements
- Support and improve the welding elements of the Quality Management System
- Train, mentor, and qualify welders and inspection personnel
Minimum Requirements
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (required)
- Strong working knowledge of AWS, ASME, API, MIL, and applicable welding codes and standards
- Deep working knowledge of welding codes and standards
- Experience working with MRP or production planning systems
- Experience supporting production and quality systems in a manufacturing environment
- Commutable to Richmond, IN
