Run Test Technician / Compressor Technician / Electrical Test Technician required to join a leading engineering manufacturer in the power generation and gas compression industry based in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, repairing, and preparing large industrial gas compression systems and engines for operation.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on CAT and Waukesha engines, Ariel or Dresser Rand compressors, and industrial electrical controls within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.

Package: $30 – $42 per hour. Additional benefits and career progression opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Test, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical faults on gas compression systems.
  • Work on CAT 3500 / 3600 and Waukesha engines.
  • Prepare coupled and uncoupled engine and compressor packages for test runs.
  • Read and interpret P&ID and electrical drawings.
  • Work with PLC, Murphy, and Altronic control systems.
  • Use electrical testing equipment including HART communicators and process meters.
  • Support and lead small teams within the production environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Test Technician, PLC Test Technician, Industrial Test Technician, Controls Test Technician, Power Generation Test Technician, Electrical Commissioning Technician, or similar.
  • Experience with gas compressors and power generation equipment.
  • Knowledge of Ariel and Dresser Rand compressors.
  • Experience with CAT and Waukesha engines.
  • Familiarity with industrial controls and instrumentation.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Based commutable to Houston, TX.
