Overview of the Technical Sales Engineer position at Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems Europe UK Branch. The person will report to the UK Sales Manager and should be based in England or Wales; location is flexible.
Responsibilities:
- Sell the Telesis range of products, with the possibility to sell Hitachi coding and marking machines.
- Travel extensively throughout the UK and Ireland, generally by driving but occasionally by plane or train, including some overnight stays.
- Receive initial independent training in the UK, supported by training from other Telesis and Hitachi locations.
- Have a full and clean driving licence, with no restrictions on travel due to passport.
Desired Capabilities:
- Be self-motivated, reliable, and disciplined.
- Aptitude for machines and mechanical processes; experience with CMM or CNC machines is relevant.
- Possess good existing sales skills or the potential to learn, including product demonstrations, negotiating skills, and tracking opportunities.
- Ability to analyse custom projects and work with machine integrators.
- Basic IT skills are essential.
- Organised, tidy, and proficient with paperwork, systems, and processes.
- Clear and effective communicator, both verbally and by email.
- Sales-oriented and focused on customer service.
- Ability to work well with Telesis and Hitachi staff while managing personal workload.
Product Focus and Training:
- The Telesis range consists of dot peen, scribe, and laser marking machines.
- Full training will be provided in advance.
- The territory split will depend on experience and location.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Gross basic salary estimated at £40,000 – £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- Sales commission scheme estimated at £10,000 per annum, with a flat rate of at least £750 gross per month for the first six months.
- A company vehicle will be provided, with private use permitted.
- Holiday allowance of 25 days per year, pro-rated in the first year.
- Option to join the company pension scheme with employee contributions currently at 4% net (5% gross) of basic salary.
