CNC Grinding Technician

Reports to

Production Manager

Location

Bradford, full time – 38 hrs per week

Role Purpose

The primary responsibility of the CNC Grinding Technician is to operate both Manual Surface Grinding Machines and Semi-auto Grinding Machines.

  • Key Accountabilities
  • Produce components to manufacturing specifications.
  • Check the size and accuracy of components produced during and at the end of manufacturing.
  • Always apply full attention to detail, ensuring assigned work is understood prior to commencing.
  • Complete assigned work within the given timeframe and according to specifications.
  • Complete required paperwork.
  • Follow Management/Supervisor instructions for the efficient delivery of responsibilities.
  • Work in accordance with Shopfloor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate machinery, always complying with company policy, procedure, and Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance.
  • Work efficiently and effectively on own and as part of a team.
  • Complete housekeeping duties in assigned areas daily or when required.
  • Ensure safety devices are in operation.
  • Adhere to all PPE/workwear requirements.
  • Undertake all other reasonable work requests to support/assist the smooth running of the shop floor.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Experience of working in a similar role with proven understanding of precision machining and measurement.
  • Operated Manual Surface Grinding Machines and Semi-Auto Grinding Machines.
  • Knowledge of CNC Cylindrical Grinding Machines, and willingness to learn how to operate.
  • Precision Engineering background is essential.
  • Good level of academic achievement, ideally within a Mechanical Engineering related discipline.
  • Experience in a similar high precision environment.
  • Experience in a busy shop floor environment.
