We are seeking a Service Manager / Engineering Site Manager / General Manager to join a leading, growing manufacturer of industrial pump solutions based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The successful candidate will manage rental equipment and lead a team of service technicians and subcontractors serving the industrial market, focusing on various pump systems, valves, actuators, pipework, hydraulics, and associated clean & wastewater products.
The ideal candidate will have management or supervisory experience in engineering, with a background in fluid power, pumps, valves, hydraulics, pipework, or similar equipment. This is a site-based role, but may require travel for additional training or shadowing opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 20 engineers, technicians, and administrative staff, overseeing the entire facility, reporting to the VP.
- Initially, have a hands-on role for at least the first year.
- Monitor daily tasks, ensuring deadlines for services and repairs are met.
- Manage a team working on rotating equipment, pumps, valves, motors, pipes, and PLCs.
- Create and oversee a Preventative Maintenance schedule for rentals.
- Collaborate on advanced pump technologies from industry-leading brands worldwide.
- Assist in hiring future team members.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and respond to inquiries.
- Liaise with various engineering departments.
Requirements
- Experience as a Service Manager, Customer Support Manager, Rentals Manager, Engineering Manager, Service Supervisor, Pump Engineer, Installation Manager, or similar in engineering.
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, fluid power, rotating equipment, pipes, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, or filtration; candidates with a rotating equipment background are preferred.
- Management or supervisory experience in engineering, with a background in fluid power or rotating equipment.
- A desire for change management and a drive to progress into higher management roles.
- Located near Grand Rapids, Michigan, with flexibility to travel across the US.
