Quality Technician / 3D Metrology Technician required to join a manufacturing company based in Richmond, IN. A technical or associate’s degree in engineering technology / CAD Drafting & Design Technology (or related field) or equivalent technical / job experience is required.
Package: $29 - $32 per hour. Full benefits package. Career development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Operate MetraScan and Handy Probe tools to collect 3D data both in the QA lab and on the shop floor.
- Utilize DISCUS Ballooning software for new and revised projects.
- Deliver professional and timely 3D scanning, inspection, and reverse engineering services using PolyWorks Inspector and VX Elements.
- Support Design with reverse engineering tasks via VX Model and/or SolidWorks.
- Help scope and quote projects by providing practical engineering insights on timeframes and tooling options.
- Ensure inspection outputs are formatted for downstream processes and customer review.
- Build solid working relationships with internal teams and external customers.
- Stay on top of calibration schedules and manage setup, implementation, and operation of metrology tools.
Requirements:
- Technical or Associate degree in Engineering Technology, CAD Drafting & Design Technology, or relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing drawings, tolerances, units, dimensions, and GD&T basics.
- Familiar with standard measurement tools: calipers, thread gauges, pin gauges, tape measures, etc.
- Ability to interpret engineering specs and apply technical judgment quickly and accurately.
- Hands-on experience with 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks, etc.).
- Familiarity with GD&T principles.
- Commutable to Richmond, IN.
