A Controls technician / Automation technician / Systems technician is required to join an industry leader in Florida. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in DDC controls, system startups, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:
- Start-up, check-out, and commissioning of DDC and building control systems
- Troubleshoot, test, and calibrate HVAC and mechanical controls
- Make minor DDC code modifications and configure system elements like trend logs, alarms, graphics, and zones
- Record and update as-built drawings and control documentation
- Execute field changes and directives during project delivery
- Provide owner and peer training on system usage and maintenance
- Collaborate with project engineers and technical teams during installations
- Construct panels and prepare field documentation including UL tags, check-out sheets, and redline drawings
- Manage time effectively to ensure assignments are completed on time and within budget
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Applied Technology or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of DDC control theory, mechanical/electrical systems, and field instrumentation
- Proficient with computers, control software, and basic programming logic
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in construction environments
- Must be comfortable with physical demands (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, working in mechanical rooms)
- Experience in HVAC or building automation environments strongly preferred
- Reliable and detail-oriented with strong communication skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally
- Preferably resides in the Gainesville area.
