CNC Turner / CNC Lathe Operator / CNC Machinist required to join a mechanical engineering business near Bedford.

The CNC Turner / CNC Lathe Operator / CNC Machinist would suit someone with experience setting and operating CNC turning machines, ideally with a background in precision engineering, mechanical parts, multi-axis turning, or similar.

You’ll set and operate CNC lathes, follow drawings and tooling instructions, check tolerances, and adjust offsets to produce high-quality components. The role involves working across multiple machines and supporting continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Package:

Up to £34,500 depending on experience + overtime
25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 1pm

Key Responsibilities:

Set and operate CNC turning machines to produce precision components
Follow drawings, set-up sheets and tooling instructions accurately
Load and unload parts using manual or crane-assisted lifting
Carry out dimensional and visual checks using measurement tools
Adjust machine offsets to maintain tolerance and quality
Support Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives
Office based near Bedford

Requirements:

Experience as a CNC Turner / CNC Lathe Operator / CNC Machinist or similar
Previous experience setting and operating CNC turning machines
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Understanding of tolerances and measurement tools
Manual dexterity and ability to lift components as required
Commutable to the office near Bedford
