Responsibilities:
- Design electrical schematics utilizing AutoCAD Electrical.
- Create PLC, advanced motion, and HMI programs for various Allen Bradley controllers, new equipment prototypes, and for testing in assembly areas.
- Develop new standard electrical designs for new equipment and apply existing designs for standard equipment.
- Design and integrate vision systems for applications like orientation and feature detection using different vision tools.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers on the team.
- Carefully review customer specifications, develop project plans, and coordinate schedules across multiple departments, including sales and applications.
- Regularly communicate with customers to discuss project plans, share integration information, and plan installations.
- Travel to customer sites periodically for startups, installations, or to resolve field issues, including integrating new equipment with customer systems and supervising installation electricians.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering such as Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Controls, or a related field is required.
- Over 5 years of practical experience in electrical engineering design is highly preferred.
- Experience with motion control would be very beneficial.
- Experience with Ethernet/IP networks in an automation environment would be preferable.
- Commutable to Glenwood, IL.
