The Sr. Manager, Engineering – Industrialization (Hi-Density Liquid Cooling) leads a team of multi-disciplined engineers for the Industrialization of HDLC products in global manufacturing sites. They provide subject matter expertise and technical knowledge in the transfer of newly released products into global factories supplying global markets. The role manages technical teams located in the manufacturing plants which are in Mexico, North America, Europe, Malaysia, India, and China. The mechanical and electrical team are responsible for new product introduction into their assigned manufacturing location, working closely with product development engineering, project management, material planning, advanced manufacturing and manufacturing line supervisors and their operators.
The key performance indicators for the team are first pass yields, bill of material accuracy, product quality and build accuracy in addition to sustaining activities to maintain factory production output and minimising and mitigating production delays. The key competencies for the role include understanding technical details for thermal applications including IT cooling, air cooling, and liquid cooling with a specific focus on liquid cooling solutions complemented by experience in manufacturing environments and high-performance team management. This is a global role with 35%+ travel to manufacturing sites, managing remote teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical and mechanical engineering teams across global manufacturing locations.
- Own the product introduction and sustaining efforts for the product line into global manufacturing locations.
- Actively engage with multiple stakeholders including procurement, plant buyers, advanced manufacturing teams, material planning, production line teams and product development engineering.
- Be a technical expert for escalation of complex industrialization efforts spanning ERP, PLM, Oracle, CREO, Windchill knowledge is a plus, manufacturing process, NPDI within a stage gate product development process.
- Enhance team talent and development of a high-performance team including ongoing organizational structure optimization.
- Make sure products are standardised worldwide to maintain consistency in both construction and performance.
- Capable of implementing global production best practices effectively.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD to review and challenge designs; familiarity with PLM and ERP systems.
- Hands-on experience with DFM/DFA, PFMEA control plans, and process capability validation.
- Support PPAP / FAI / supplier validation activities as required.
- Own design to manufacturing handover, ensure manufacturing requirements are captured during design phase, support cost reduction of product through make vs buy etc.
- Lead prototype build, pilot build and production ramp up activities related to new product introduction.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in engineering.
- At least 10 years' experience in product development and manufacturing.
- At least 5 years in thermal management for the data centre industry.
- Experience with controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic disciplines.
- Strong written/oral communication, especially in communicating processes, prioritisation, and alignment.
- Strong experience in leadership in a multicultural environment.
- Exceptional research and analytical skills.
- Effectively communicates technical information and complex ideas.
- Project management/organisational skills to prioritise and drive product development to completion.
Strong Preference:
- Experience with manufacturing and development of liquid cooling technologies.
- English plus European or Asia Pacific language skills written/oral.
