JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Role Accountabilities
- Read engineering and architectural drawings, sketches, and work specifications to be performed, and lay out, measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates.
- Operate light metalworking machines such as Guillotine,, Press brake, punches, drills and grinders, including computer numerical control (CNC) equipment to cut, bend, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal.
- Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, and similar equipment to fabricate.
- Install sheet metal products according to specifications.
- De Burr Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces to standard.
- Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Position sheet metal sections, join them together, and secure them in place with screws, bolts, or other fasteners.
- Work with materials such as hot and cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminium and plastics
- Flexible can-do attitude.
- Able to prioritize own workload to meet deadlines.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and always focuses on quality.
- Self-motivated and confident when taking responsibility for all areas of work.
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required to support business needs.
- Drive for improvement.
- Develop patterns for sheet metal using computer-assisted design and drafting (CAD) software package.
