Our facility in Letterkenny specializes in Vertiv PowerModule design, construction, and delivery of customized, pre-fabricated buildings. Our modular data centre solutions are engineered to meet the evolving demands of modern infrastructure, offering flexibility, scalability, and rapid deployment.
As a Thermal Engineer at Vertiv, you are responsible for customized solutions for two main business sectors: Data Centres and Telecom. This includes:
- Designing and developing modular buildings for customized solutions in accordance with the highest standards and demanding requests.
- Mechanical design on projects (building heating, cooling and ventilation, plumbing and fire suppression systems).
- Integration with other disciplines; architectural, structural, electrical.
- Focus on general design, concepts, calculation, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cooperation with the design team in the development of CD (construction documentation) sets.
- Preparation of manufacturing documentation.
- Engineering supervision and support when equipping modules in the factory (Letterkenny).
- Engineering support to service team and subcontractors.
- Involvement during the design stage through content and constructability review, responsible for providing feedback (comments) to the design team.
- Collaboration with the company operations team (project management, quality control, manufacturing, testing team and construction) in defining a project deployment strategy and executing the project.
- Managing the Construction Administration activities that include: As Built Documentation, Installation Manuals, FAT procedures (L3) including flushing, pressure testing, assisting with Punch list items, etc.
- Collaborate with local service to improve project implementation.
- Specifying Bill of Material and services required for project execution.
- Coordination with material and service suppliers during project execution.
- Engineering supervision and support during site constructions and commissioning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor or master's in mechanical engineering (Process and energy engineering, thermotechnics, modeling and simulations).
- Required experience: 1+ years in similar positions.
- Active user of: Windows, MS Office incl. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD.
- Proficient modelling skills required, preferred: Revit, AutoDesk Autocad.
- English language, independent user (B2).
- Technical/practical skills: analytical, organizational, meticulous.
