The Project Quality Engineer will assure that major ETO (Engineer to Order) projects are implemented properly from order to hand over to the customer. He/she will be in close contact with the local Service organization and the central functions (R&D, Marketing, Service and Quality) to coordinate communication between the two parties and ensure customer requirements are understood and timely applied. He/she will coordinate the activities that central functions need to perform at the site to support the local organization, supervise on site if necessary, and follow up problems found from design phase to commissioning, involving the relevant department.

Responsibilities

  • Support the central functions to have a smooth process from ETO design phase to assembly and test activity done in the factory; related activities include kick‑off meetings, PDCA document preparation, closure meetings, assembly process, final test, witness test, etc.
  • Collect information and documentation (technical and commercial, e.g., technical drawings, order documentation, unit setting, etc.) of the projects from central functions (R&D, Marketing, Service, Operations and Quality) and make them available to the local organization to support site activity.
  • Collect information on a regular basis about the site situation (site activity plan, utilities availability, etc.) and share it with central functions (R&D and Service) to support and facilitate activities to be done at the site by the central functions (if any).
  • Monitor site activity and facilitate communication between central and local teams when needed.
  • Report any issues found at site by the local team or during site visits to the departments that must manage and fix the issue (Service, Production, R&D, Quality, etc.).
  • Visit the sites involved in the major projects before, during, and/or after unit commissioning (based on specific needs) to support the local organization and collect useful information for product improvement.
  • Follow up on any activity performed by central functions to ensure they have been completed as expected.
  • Monitor product behavior after hand‑over to the customer and report major issues to the factory (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Technical school background: University degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of HVAC‑R products and principles.
  • 3–5 or more years of experience in a technical position (e.g., Quality, Service, Product Manager).
  • Good English.
  • Computer literate, specifically the MS Office package (Access included).
  • Ability to plan activities in short‑ and midterm timeframes.
  • Ability to coordinate people from different departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and set the right priorities.
  • Highly customer‑focused.
  • Problem‑solving capability.
  • Attitude to listen to customers’ (internal and external) needs.
  • Team‑work oriented.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately in a busy and demanding environment.
