We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for the position of Material Handler within our Switchgear team in Campsie Site, Derry/Londonderry.

This is a diverse and rewarding role in a dynamic engineering environment where you will play a key part in supporting production by ensuring materials are efficiently managed, accurately stored, and promptly delivered to the right teams.

You will also be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and safety, helping to drive operational excellence across Switchgear.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor live production schedules and navigate IFS to arrange materials from stores.
  • Carry out inspections, take‑offs, and report any damages or shortages to Stores and the relevant Engineer.
  • Identify non‑conformances, complete NCRs, quarantine affected parts, and coordinate with Quality and Engineering to ensure timely replacement.
  • Maintain accurate records of all material movements and ensure correct booking of projects.
  • Support the timely fulfilment and delivery of materials between Stores and Production teams.
  • Pursue outstanding materials, keeping Team Leaders updated on progress.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Ensure materials are correctly stored and labelled in designated locations.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of production parts and codes.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while being a proactive team player.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements and participate in relevant training.
  • Support implementation of VOS principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills, Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience in warehouse, material handling, or inventory control.
  • Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Awareness of workshop equipment, methods, and procedures.
  • Understanding Health & Safety requirements, including risk assessments and COSHH.

Desirable Skills, Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP/IFS systems.
