As part of our continued investment in talent development, we are recruiting future engineers through our Higher-Level and Degree Apprenticeship Programmes.
About the programme
This programme provides an alternative route to obtaining a higher education qualification while gaining valuable industry experience and earning a competitive salary. Apprentices will work alongside experienced engineering professionals while developing technical expertise in electrical engineering, switchgear manufacturing, testing, quality assurance and engineering design.
Programme Pathways
- Higher-Level Apprenticeship (HNC/HND Electrical Engineering)
- HNC - 2 years
- HND - 3 years
- One day per week at North West Regional College (NWRC)
- Four days per week of structured workplace learning
- Degree Apprenticeship (BEng Electrical & Electronic Engineering)
- Four-year programme
- Delivered in partnership with Ulster University
- Combines academic study with practical engineering experience
- Provides a pathway from Junior Engineering positions to Graduate Engineering roles

Essential Criteria
Higher-Level Apprenticeship (HNC/HND) Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old by September 2026
- Have 3 A-Levels at grades A*-C including Mathematics or Physics (or equivalent) OR Hold a BTEC Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Engineering
Degree Apprenticeship Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Relevant A-Level qualifications including Mathematics and a science/technology subject
- Relevant Irish Leaving Certificate qualifications including Higher Level Mathematics
- HNC or HND in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
