Working within Vertiv’s Non Contract Service Sales Department, you will be responsible for delivering the company’s service sales strategy to both new and existing customers. This role will require you to maximise sales opportunities with existing customers as well as developing new business opportunities through both your own business acumen and the operational back office support. You will play a key role in the Company’s attempts to develop and grow non contract service revenues throughout the UK.
Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new customer T&M (Time & Material) business by promoting Vertiv products and services.
- Develop existing customers by increasing their awareness of Vertiv’s Service abilities to maintain existing business and develop additional business opportunities.
- Assist and support both current and potential customers on technical and project related matters.
- Meet and exceed orders targets ensuring GP and OP margins are achieved.
- Provide technical support to all members of the team as and when required.
- Work closely with existing and potential customers on lifecycle planning providing both technical and budgetary advice.
- Attendance at customer sites to undertake site surveys and site meetings as and when required.
- Coordinate, track and manage the proactive liaison and negotiation with customers regarding follow up and closure of outstanding quotations on internal platforms.
- Record all project activity through internal platforms to enable forecasts for the region to be extracted by management.
- Negotiate project specific prices with preferred subcontractors.
- Evaluate engineers reports ensuring the correct service solution is proposed to the customer.
- Ensure quotation requests are completed in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure that all works are administered as per the current issued Service Sales Procedures.
- Ensure that the Company guidelines are strictly adhered to regarding ethical business operations.
- Operate and support company procedures.
- Promote Vertiv at every opportunity.
- Help develop integration and co-operation between other inter-company departments and the Service Sales Team.
- Support management decision.
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all other areas of the business.
- Attend professional organisation meetings to support continuing relationships and obtain new business as and when required.
- Ensure that any activity, task and responsibility required by role in terms of the International Trade Compliance Regulations is managed and performed in full compliance with the company’s ITC certification program itself.
- To adhere to the company HSE policy.
- Assess and control all risk (health, safety and environmental) on projects. Identify and comply with all relevant site legislation.
- Ensure all suppliers, contractors and subcontractors are vetted, approved and appropriate for use.
- Ensure safe working practices with appropriate procedures, prevention measures and precautions are in place.
Qualifications
- Must have either Data Centre Thermal (Cooling) or UPS / Battery technical understanding and knowledge.
- Minimum of 2 years sales experience or 5 years engineer experience.
- Have an understanding of business critical applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Understanding of the UK market.
- Valid driving licence.
- Self-disciplined and motivated.
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is (preferably but not essential).
- Excellent financial management skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications.
- Commercially astute with first class negotiation skills.
- Ability to successfully communicate with various departments and personnel in potentially stressful situations.
- Proven team leader with the ability to inspire top performance.
- Ability to prioritise.
